The True vs. False Messiah

Basis

In the Bible and in the churches, everybody’s favorite person and topic of study is Jesus Christ. Now imagine the preposterous: is it possible to go to church for 10 or even 30 years hearing the same stories about Jesus over and over again and to be told all about who he was and what he was like over and over again and still not really know?

Let’s look at the things that the Messiah in our Bibles actually did and said, and make sure we have a good understanding of the man versus the myth. Next, we’re going to change gears and look at another Messiah we read about in our Bibles. Once we know the real Messiah from studying the Scriptures, the false messiah will stick out to us like a sore thumb!

A Different Name

John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and you receive me not. if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.

There is some controversy among scholars as to what the actual, exact name of the Messiah was based on Hebrew vs. Aramaic and their respective changes over time. But what all understand is that his name means “Yah is salvation.” “Yah” is the short or poetic form of the name of the Father “YHWH,” and is found in the names of most of the Prophets and Apostles.

So whether the Messiah actually answered to Yahshua, Yahusha or Yeshua, it began with a form of the YH cluster or else he didn’t truly come “in his Father’s name.”

Understanding that most of the names in the Bible (including this one) take their meaning from the Hebrew language, what does “Jesus” mean? The closest thing to it would be pronounced “he soos” which basically means, “Here is a horse.”

For the remainder of this study, I’ll refer to the Messiah we read about in the Bible by his proper name – Yahshua, and I’ll speak of the messiah we learned about in church by his own, Greek name – Jesus. So Yahshua will be the Bible-Messiah, and Jesus will be the church-messiah.

The Law Crucified or Fully Preached

The churches teach us that because of Jesus’ sacrifice, the Law of Moses was “nailed to a cross” and thus is invalid today and something we should not be obeying.

Matthew 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say to you, “Until heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, until all be fulfilled.”

While Messiah obviously said the exact opposite of what we’ve been taught in this verse, some still try to defend their doctrine contending that when Messiah said he came to “fulfill” the Law that this means somehow to satisfy it thus bringing it to completion and termination.

If we look back at that passage, we see that the word “fulfill” is actually used twice, but strangely, there are two completely different Greek words being translated here. The second occurrence comes from a word pronounced “gin-om-ay” which means to be finished or ended. This is the meaning that these people try to assign to what Messiah said he was doing with the Law, but that is an error. What Messiah said he was doing comes from the Greek word pronounced “plee-roo” which means “to fully preach.”

So Messiah said he didn’t come to destroy the Law, but rather to fully preach it.

Saving the World or Saving Israel

Pack the pews and fill the church, because we were taught that Jesus came to save the whole world – everybody. John 3:16 and all, right? The funny thing is, we accepted this teaching without hesitation and subsequently ignored what the prophets and Messiah said repeatedly about whom he came to save.

Matthew 2:6 And you Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people, Israel.

Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, “I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Matthew 10:5-6 These twelve Yahshua sent forth, and commanded them, saying, “Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter not. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

So while we were taught that Jesus is looking for every man, woman and child alive, Yahshua said he was only concerned with saving the lost sheep of Israel.

Two New Commandments or Ten+ Old Ones

A young man once asked Yahshua WHICH commandments we should be obeying if we want to inherit eternal life. His answer was unmistakable:

Matthew 19:17-19 “… if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.“ The man said to him, “Which?” Yahshua said, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother: and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

So what’s this? It looks to me like the Ten Commandments. That’s obvious enough, right? So is Messiah saying that of the ten, we only need to keep these six he just mentioned? Perhaps he’s saying we need to keep all ten of the commandments that were written in stone. I propose that he was actually saying that we need to keep the whole Law of Moses which included the famous Ten Commandments. Here is why I say that:

Once upon a time, a Scribe sought to challenge Messiah by asking him what was the greatest commandment of the entire Law of Moses. Here is the passage.

Mark 12:28-30 And one of the scribes came, and … asked him, “Which is the first commandment of all?” And Yahshua answered him, “The first of all the commandments is, “Hear, O Israel: YHWH, our Elohim, is one. And you shall love YHWH, your Elohim, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment.

In this passage, Messiah is quoting from Deuteronomy chapter six. It contains a commandment which he considered the greatest of all of the commandments. Remarkably, this is NOT one of the Ten Commandments written in stone. So does it seem possible that we are NOT supposed to keep this greatest of commandments? Or is it more logical to believe that Messiah was telling us to do what he himself and all of his disciples did, namely – to obey the Law of YHWH as recorded in the books of Moses? The weight of evidence throughout the New Testament suggests the latter.

One of Three or Servant of One

98% of the over 40,000 denominations of Christianity in existence today teach that Jesus is a member of their “Holy Trinity” which is three divine, equal, omniscient, omnipresent beings which comprise something called the “Godhead” which is in simpler terms – “God.” By this doctrine, we see that Jesus is part of a triune deity simultaneously existing in three beings united to form one.

When we read the accounts of the Messiah in the Bible as well as the understanding of the Apostles who wrote after his death, we see a different relationship being portrayed than this trinity.

Yahshua glorified the Father.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Yahshua refused to be worshiped himself.

Luke 18:18-19 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And Yahshua said unto him, “Why do you call me good? none is good, save one, that is, YHWH.”

Yahshua acknowledged that he did NOT know everything.

Mark 13:31-32 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and that hour no man knows, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Yahshua was subordinate to a higher power.

Matthew 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, “O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.”

A Man or a God

Luke 9:22 The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

The expression “Son of man” really says it all, but to dig a little deeper into this verse, ask yourself the following questions:

Isn’t “God” a Spirit?

Can a Spirit be killed by men?

Isn’t God all-knowing?

Why did Yahshua not have all the answers?

Why was Yahshua’s will different from the Father’s will in the garden of Gethsemane?

Three days in the Grave or a Day and a Half

Christianity widely recognizes that the death of their messiah, Jesus, happened on a (Good) Friday, and that he rose again on Sunday. Yahshua was very specific about how long he’s be in the grave, and he even said it’d be a SIGN.

Matthew 12:39-40 An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Obviously, by no mathematical calendar trickery can three days and three nights be found between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. The one sign Yahshua gave of his identity is so simple that a third grader can interpret it correctly, and yet it’s a stumbling block for over two billion Christians today.

A Hem or a “Tzitzit”

Matthew 14:36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

By contemporary interpretations, Jesus wore something akin to a Roman bathrobe folded up and sewn along the bottom. This might seem like an insignificant matter, but the proper translation of this verse actually has a prophetic revelation attached.

The word translated as “hem” comes from a Greek word meaning “fringe” or “tassel.” Yahshua wore tassels along the border of his clothing in obedience to a commandment found in Numbers.

Numbers 15:38-40 Speak to the children of Israel, and bid them that they make fringes on the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a thread of blue. And it shall be to you for a fringe, that you may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of YHWH, and do them, and that you seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go whoring. That you may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your Elohim.”

Malachi 4:2 But to you that fear my name shall the sun (not a misspell) of righteousness arise with healing in his wings.

From Malachi, there was a prophecy of Messiah that he would have healing in his “wings.” This Hebrew word translated as “wings” is the same word found in Numbers where it tells us to wear tzitzim.

A New or Old Set of Laws

Matthew 5:27-28 You have heard that it was said by them of old time, “You shalt not commit adultery.” But I say to you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Without having ever learned what the Old Testament says, it seems plausible when the Pastors and Priests of Christian churches read Matthew chapter 5 and tell us that Jesus came and changed the Laws of his Father making them stricter and thus “Christianizing” them.

But the actual and factual of the matter is that Messiah was teaching Jews who had been brought up under the traditions and laws of Rabbinical Judaism what they were actually supposed to be obeying, that is the Law of Moses. These Jews believed that by obeying the teachings of the Scribes and Pharisees – the “traditions of the elders” that they actually WERE obeying Moses, but Yahshua taught them otherwise. Remember – he came to “fully preach” the Law, or to put it in other words – he came to show us how to do it right.

These Jews had been taught not to sleep with their neighbors’ wives. And that’s good – that’s PART of what the Law says about loving our neighbors. But Messiah was telling them, “Hey guys, there’s more to it than just that!”

Exodus 20:17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house, you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is your neighbor's.

Deuteronomy 5:21 Neither shall you desire your neighbor's wife, neither shall you covet thy neighbor's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or anything that is your neighbor's.

So you see “lusting” after your neighbor’s wife isn’t a new commandment Jesus made up. It’s an old commandment Israel had forgotten. This is just one of many similar of Yahshua’s teachings that are being misinterpreted today to convince people that “Jesus came to start a new religion.”

A Cross or a Stake

Jesus died on a cross.

Yet, when we look up the word “crucify” in a concordance, we see that it was translated from a Greek word which means “to impale,” and the word “cross” is translated from a word which means “stake or post.”

When we study the history behind the Vulgate which is the first Bible as we know it today where the “cross” made its debut, the reason for this word replacement becomes clear.

Without going into a long-winded history lesson, I’ll summarize by saying that the Roman Empire encompassed a great many religions most of which worshipped the sun or an incarnation thereof. The cross is an ancient symbol of sun worship which represents the solstices and the equinoxes. Constantine’s alleged conversion to Christianity occurred when he was praying to his sun-god of choice and was supposedly shown the sign of the cross.

Is it any coincidence that not only was a sun-worship symbol so prominently introduced in our Bibles, but the Sabbath was changed from the seventh day to the “Day of the Sun,” and the holy days of the Bible were replaced with solstice celebrations? Perhaps you’re starting to see a pattern here.

December 25th or Other

By the way, how did Rome arrive at the birthdate of December 25th for their messiah? Well, that date is the most important date of the year… for sun worshippers. Consequently, centuries before the time of Messiah, many gods celebrated their births on the exact same date to include such famed deities as Krishna, Mithras Sol Invictus, Horus, Tammuz, Buddha, Osiris and Hercules.

While there some EXCELLENT theories floating about which aim to determine the actual time of Yahshua’s birth, there really is no concrete evidence, but one thing’s for certain: no person studied on the matter suspects December 25th.

A Trinitarian or Messianic Baptism

According to most versions of the Bible, Jesus told his Apostles to baptize people into Rome’s Trinity (the titles father, son and holy spirit). Today, 98% of Christianity practices this ritual ignoring a few peculiar details.

Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

  1) Supposedly, Messiah is ordering his Apostles to go to all nations when previously, he had told them to go ONLY to the lost sheep of Israel.

  2) The only other appearance of the “father son and holy ghost” reference in the Bible was rigorously proven to be a Roman forgery. That was found in I John 5:7.

  3) The belief of a Trinity didn’t exist until over two hundred years after Messiah.

  4) The Apostles who supposedly received this command never practiced it. They baptized in the name of Yahshua only throughout the book of Acts. In fact, the early church baptized only in the Messiah’s name for three centuries until Rome decided to change the baptism in the year 315.

Accepting or Rejecting People Who Call on Him

According to the churches, all we have to do is call on the “Lord” and we will be saved. Some denominations teach a different variation of this doctrine such as accepting Jesus as your personal savior, inviting Jesus into your heart, confessing Jesus and so on, but the end is the same.

Yahshua said that in judgment, he would be rejecting many people who not ONLY called him, “Lord, lord,” but even went on to prophesy, cast out devils and do wonderful works and ALL in his name. And he said he would reject them for practicing “lawlessness.”

Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that says unto me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; BUT HE THAT DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in heaven. MANY will say to me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? And in your name cast out devils? And in your name done many wonderful works?"

And then I will tell them, "I never knew you: DEPART FROM ME, YOU THAT WORK LAWLESSNESS."

Eating Unclean or Rejecting Judaism

Jesus supposedly annulled what Christians call the “dietary laws.” The expression “dietary laws” is a term found nowhere in the Bible which refers to the portion of the Law of Moses which describes what is and isn’t to be eaten by believers. To establish this doctrine, they take the following quote out of context:

Matthew 15:11 “Not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”

Yahshua was responding to an accusation of his rejection of Jewish hand-washing rituals at the time he made this assertion, and was referring to dirt on the hands. Not once did he ever declare the things that were always unclean suddenly fit for consumption.

Sunday Worship or Friday-Saturday Sabbath

By virtue of the discovery of his resurrection on a Sunday morning, Christianity affirms that Jesus changed the fourth commandment from “remember the seventh day to keep it holy” to a new day – Sunday – the first day of the week.

Yahshua, on the other hand, was in the Temple or a synagogue on Sabbaths, and his disciples continued in this observance through the rest of the New Testament letters. In the book of Acts alone is found over 80 references of Sabbath observance, and there is a strong admonishment for those who would fail to rest on that day in Hebrews chapter 4.

Holy Days or Holidays

In commemoration of Jesus’ birth and death, we are told to celebrate Christmas and Easter, not to mention other religious observances such as Lent, Corpus Christi, Good Friday, Ash Wednesday and so on. These holidays are all derived from days previously dedicated to the worship of other gods.

Yahshua, on the other hand, was killed on Passover, in the grave at the onset of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, rose on First Fruits and the Holy Spirit fell on the Feast of Weeks. These days are ALL holy days we are commanded to observe forever since the books of Moses.

After Yahshua’s death, the Apostles continued to observe and teach others to observe the holy days. This continued for centuries until Rome replaced these days and outlawed their observance replacing them with days to commemorate their own sun gods.

Truth or Tradition

Christianity, the religion Jesus allegedly came to found, trains its adherents to carry and read Bibles, but to practice the traditions of men. Almost everything found in Christianity is non-Scriptural tradition. Consider for example:

  • Their weekly day of worship (Sunday)

  • The holidays they keep

  • The payment of cash-tithes

  • Trinitarian baptisms

  • Building “temples” in places other than the Temple Mount

  • Appointing hierarchies of human leadership above them

  • Plans of salvation like inviting Jesus into your heart

Yahshua was by no means a traditionalist. He rejected human traditions and instead called men to obedience to the Law of Moses.

Matthew 15:1-3 Then came to Yahshua scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, “Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.” But he answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of YHWH by your tradition?”

Upon study of most of the aforementioned Christian traditions compared to the Law of Moses, one quickly realizes that all of these traditions do in fact violate the Laws our Father commanded us to obey.

Faith and Obedience or Belief and Grace

The churches which worship Jesus teach that salvation is a gift that comes to believers by their belief alone (sometimes they call this belief “faith”), by virtue of nothing more than the goodness of Jesus himself (which they usually call “grace”).

Yahshua taught something very different. He said that in order to inherit eternal life, we had to be born again, we had to keep the commandments, and that he’d reject us in judgment if we lived in disobedience to the will of his Father as articulated in the Law of Moses.

It is beyond ironic that Christian churches actually teach AGAINST obedience to the Law of Moses – the very Law Yahshua obeyed and taught his disciples to obey. Yet, all the while, they usually make up their own laws and commandments along the way and obligate their flocks to abide by those. If we would willingly obey the laws of men, why would we so staunchly reject the law our Creator gave us?

Peace or Sword

Jesus is regarded as an all-loving, all-tolerating, non-judgmental peacemaker.

Matthew 10:34 “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth. I came not to send peace, but a sword! For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

Yahshua attacked peoples’ businesses, called others things like “Satan” and “hypocrite”, taught his disciples to JUDGE righteously, told would-be followers that they were unfit for his kingdom and so on.

Legalism or Love

In Jesus’ Christianity, submitting oneself to the Law of Moses is considered legalistic, an attempt to earn salvation, a rejection of or fall from grace or similar.

Yahshua explained that the Law (Moses) and the Prophets (the rest of the Old Testament) serve two purposes, both of which are love.

Matthew 22:37-40 Yahshua said to him, “You shall love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

A Man or an Image

In Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, we read about a man – a Prophet – a Messiah – an Anointed King and High Priest who walked the Earth and was never worshiped. He practiced and taught the commandments one of which tells us to make no images.

When we hear the name “Jesus Christ” the first thing that pops into our mind is the one thing Revelation says the world will end up worshipping, and that is an image. Jesus weighs approximately 98 lbs., fair complexion, a well-managed beard, long, curly hair, and of course the sun featured prominently behind his head.

Jesus Christ was never a man. No man 2,000 years ago answered to the name “Jesus Christ.” Once again, we see that there really is a difference between these two messiahs.

Antichrist Revealed

Again, the word “anti-christ” is a terrible translation! Even the word “christ” leaves much to be desired. When we read the word “antichrist” in our Bibles, the real, original meaning of that is “false messiah.” So while the world is waiting for a charismatic world leader to force them all to put microchips in their skin, they’re missing the obviousness of the prophecy fulfilled and staring them right in the face.

There clearly IS a difference between the Jesus Christ of Christianity and the Messiah found in our Bibles. Only one of these two can be the real deal. The other is false, and more people worship that messiah than any other thing in the world.

Revelation 16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

We read in this passage that the image is “of a beast.” In Revelation chapter 17, the “beast” is revealed to be a city which sits on seven hills and rules over the kings over the Earth. This is a description of none other than Rome.

Consequently, this image we all have burned into our minds was created in Rome along with the mark of the trinity and the largest religion on Earth.

If you would follow the real Messiah, then consider following John’s guidance and live in obedience to the Law of YHWH as documented by Moses.

1 John 2:3-6 And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that says, “I know Him,” and keeps not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His Word, in him verily is the love of YHWH perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that says he abides in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
